How Do You Remove the Original Mazda Turbo Ejector?
The original ejector is secured with a tamper-resistant factory bolt.
Unfortunately, part of the plastic ejector body makes the bolt difficult to access.
Since the old ejector is already being replaced, the easiest removal method is generally to carefully remove some of the surrounding plastic.
Step 1: Expose the Factory Bolt
Carefully cut or break away the corner of the original plastic ejector around the mounting bolt.
Remove only enough material to gain access to the bolt head.
Take care not to damage the aluminum turbocharger housing.
Step 2: Remove the Tamper-Resistant Bolt
Once the bolt is exposed, there are two common ways to remove it.
Method 1 – Cut a screwdriver slot
Carefully cut a straight slot across the head of the factory bolt. A flat-blade screwdriver can then be used to turn the bolt out.
Method 2 – Use locking pliers
Break away enough of the plastic ejector body to allow locking pliers or vise grips to securely grab the bolt head.
Turn the bolt counterclockwise until it can be removed.
Keep plastic and metal debris away from open vacuum hoses, ports, and turbocharger passages during removal.
A New Allen Bolt Is Included
You do not need to reuse the factory tamper-resistant bolt.

Once the original plastic ejector and factory bolt have been removed, install the aluminum replacement using the supplied bolt.
This also makes future removal significantly easier if the area ever needs to be serviced again.
