Because the old ejector is being discarded, carefully cut or break away the corner of the plastic ejector surrounding the mounting bolt.

You only need to remove enough plastic to expose the bolt head.

Important

Take your time.

Avoid cutting into the aluminum turbocharger housing beneath the plastic fitting.

Also prevent plastic debris from entering any open ports or hoses.

Step 4: Remove the Factory Bolt

Once the bolt head has been exposed, there are two practical ways to remove it.

Method 1: Cut a Screwdriver Slot

Use a small cutting tool to carefully cut a straight slot across the top of the factory bolt.

Once the slot is deep enough for a flat-blade screwdriver to engage securely, use the screwdriver to loosen and remove the bolt.

Make sure the screwdriver is seated firmly so the newly cut slot does not strip.

Method 2: Use Locking Pliers

Remove enough of the surrounding plastic ejector body to expose the sides of the factory bolt head.

Grip the bolt securely with locking pliers or vise grips.

Turn the bolt counterclockwise until it loosens, then remove it from the turbocharger housing.

Do not overtighten the bolt.

The goal is to securely retain the ejector without damaging the aluminum turbocharger housing.

Do not reuse the original tamper-resistant bolt.

Step 9: Reconnect the Hoses

Reconnect each hose to its original location.

Refer to the photo you took before disassembly if necessary.

Make sure every hose is:

  • Fully seated

  • Routed correctly

  • Free from cracks or damage

  • Not kinked

  • Not contacting anything that could damage it

Double-check all connections before starting the engine.

Step 10: Final Inspection

Before starting the vehicle, make sure:

  • The new ejector is fully seated

  • The Allen bolt is installed

  • All hoses are connected

  • No tools or debris remain in the engine compartment

  • Any covered ports or hoses have been uncovered

  • The work area is clean
