How Do You Remove the Original Ejector?

The factory ejector is held in place by a tamper-resistant bolt, and unfortunately the plastic body of the original ejector partially prevents easy access to it.

The easiest removal method usually requires sacrificing the already damaged plastic ejector.

Removal overview

First, carefully cut or break away the corner of the original plastic ejector surrounding the mounting bolt.

Once enough plastic has been removed to expose the bolt head, there are two common removal methods.

You can carefully cut a straight slot into the head of the factory bolt and remove it using a flat-blade screwdriver.

Alternatively, break away enough of the plastic body to allow a pair of locking pliers or vise grips to securely grab the bolt head and turn it out.

Be careful during removal to avoid damaging the aluminum turbocharger housing and prevent plastic or metal debris from entering any open hoses or passages.

A New Allen Bolt Is Included

Once the original ejector and tamper-resistant bolt are removed, the Elite Engineering aluminum ejector installs using the new Allen-head mounting bolt included with the replacement part.

That means you don't have to reinstall the difficult factory tamper-resistant hardware.
